Privacy Policy
In short
- Your photos stay on your iPhone. Fonder has no servers that receive them.
- No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- Fonder never asks for your location.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Apple.
Who we are
Fonder is an iPhone camera app made by an independent developer, Trung Hai (“we”). This policy explains what the app does with your information. If you have a question, write to haint180298@gmail.com.
Information Fonder does not collect
We don't collect, store on a server, sell or share personal data. Fonder has no user accounts and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking software, and it doesn't use your data to track you across other apps or websites.
Photos and videos
- Where they're kept: photos and videos you take or import are kept on your device, inside Fonder's own storage.
- Saving to your library: Fonder adds your finished photos and videos to your Photos library when you choose to save them, or automatically if Save to Photos is on in Settings. You can turn this off at any time.
- Originals: original captures (such as RAW files) are kept for a limited time or storage size so you can re-edit, then removed automatically. Favourites and film-roll photos waiting to be developed are kept.
- Deleting the app removes everything stored inside it. Photos already saved to your Photos library stay there.
Permissions the app asks for
Camera
To take photos and videos. The picture is processed on your device.
Microphone
Only to record sound with videos in Cine mode. Sound is written into the video file on your device.
Photos
To save your finished photos and videos, and to show your recent photos on the Import screen so you can pick one to edit. Fonder only opens the photo you choose.
You can change any of these in the iPhone's Settings app, under Fonder.
Location
Fonder doesn't request or use your location. A photo you import may already contain location information recorded by another camera or app. Fonder keeps that information with the photo, as it was, when you save or share the photo as it is. The Card and Overlay share styles remove location information before sharing.
Sharing
When you share a photo, video or recipe, Fonder creates the file, text, link or QR code on your device and hands it to the destination you choose through the iPhone's share sheet. What happens next is governed by that app or service's privacy policy. A shared recipe contains only its settings, and a name only if you add one.
New recipes
To show recipes released after you installed the app, Fonder downloads a small list of recipes from a public web address (trunghai298.github.io, hosted by GitHub). The request carries no account, identifier, cookies or personal data. Like any website, the host can see the network address of the device making the request; see GitHub's privacy statement.
Purchases
Fonder's paid unlock (“Unlock everything”) is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details. The app only checks with Apple whether the purchase is active on your device.
Children
Fonder isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we don't hold personal data about you, there's nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side. Everything Fonder keeps is on your device, and you can remove it by deleting photos in the app or deleting the app.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling information differently, we'll update this page and change the effective date above before that version of the app is released.
